The Tiny Tears Doll was made by the American Character Doll Company starting in 1950. Tiny Tears was the first doll ever made that drank, wet AND cried tears. A doll with these characteristics was a technological breakthrough. She was produced and sold for almost two decades from 1950-1968. Due to her popularity, patterns were made so that mothers and their daughters could make additional outfits for these darling dolls. The older (1950-61) Tiny Tears Doll came in sizes 11″, 13″, 16″, 20″ and I have several patterns available in all of these sizes. The newer (1962-68) Tiny Tears came in sizes 17″, 20″ and 21″.
This pattern was originally created December 2, 1954. The copyright for this pattern has expired and it entered the public domain Jan 1, 1983.
