Vintage Shirley Temple 13" Pattern ~ Panties, Bra, Slip

This is a PHOTOCOPY of a Vintage 1940s pattern to make doll clothes for your Shirley Temple Doll, Little Lady Doll and Movie Dolls. I have this pattern available in a variety of sizes, so please be sure that you are buying the right one. This auction is for the 13/14″ tall doll. This pattern makes the undergarments: Slip, Panties & Bra. The Slip is a full slip that has a gathered skirt attached to a sleeveless bodice. The panties have lace edging on the opening to each leg. The bra also has lace edging along the top edge.  This auction is for the undergarments only. In the 1930s the country was in the midst of the great depression and morale was low. In 1934 a young girl named Shirley Temple had her first movie role. Audiences loved her and she starred in movie after movie all with happy endings, a much needed diversion from the difficult economic times. The Ideal Toy Company started making Shirley Temple dolls to sell to her young fans. With each movie that Shirley made, a new outfit from the movie was made for sale. In addition, mothers and their daughters could purchase patterns to make clothing for their Shirley Temple dolls themselves. These patterns come from the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, which just shows the lasting place Shirley Temple has in our hearts.
Due to Shirley’s stardom, her dolls became an instant success and were made for many years in a large variety of sizes. Shirley Temple dolls were made in the following sizes: 11″, 13″, 16″, 17″, 18″, 20″, 22″, 25″, and 27″. I have patterns available for most of these sizes.
